Scutum

I am excited to share my latest 3D project: a digital recreation of the iconic Roman Scutum shield, designed entirely from scratch using the parametric capabilities of Autodesk Fusion 360. The model perfectly captures the signature curved rectangular geometry of the historical shield, featuring a deep red body decorated with clean SPQR lettering and a traditional golden winged motif. On the exterior, I modeled a distinct hexagonal central boss with a cream-colored umbo, while the reverse side highlights a realistic dark interior finish equipped with a solid black grab handle assembly. The attached renders showcase the model from multiple perspectives, including front, rear, and tilted angles, to demonstrate how the textures and contours interact with light. This Fusion 360 project was a fantastic exercise in blending historical proportions with modern CAD workflows, making it a perfect asset for both digital rendering and high-quality 3D printing.

There are a few ways we can work together! Feel free to order a custom 3D project on Fiverr, grab any of the models you see here in the blog on CGTrader, or explore our Etsy store for a curated selection of items.
